For My Plant-Based Lovers!
This one is for you vegan lovers, plant-based lovers and for those who have allergens to common food items! I didn’t really get into plant-based foods until a lovely friend of mine introduced me to it due to her own health and lifestyle. Little did I know that these options would also benefit me now with my IBS. She’s definitely broadened my palette in healthy ways.
For those who love dairy products, Daiya products as a base are the shit! The texture, taste, and how they cook together with other foods is amazing. We do the Daiya shredded cheeses, the pizzas, sliced cheeses, the desserts, and much more. We’re still exploring this brand as they have lots of other items.
Another dairy free item that’s good is Almond milk. We typically get the brand Silk as they have milk and creamers, which are so good. I’ve tried dairy free yogurt in this brand also and the creaminess was pretty good. I’ve tried soy milk based yogurt and while it had a good flavor, it was more runny than it was creamy.
Banza products for the pasta lovers are amazing and guilt free! They’re made with chickpeas and you can barely taste the difference, plus they’re really high in protein for those in weight management. As someone mixed with Italian (& many other ethnicities), I go with this brand for my pasta cravings & it never disappoints!
For those mid-day munchies: Sweet Potato Chips from Costco are full of flavor & have a satisfying crunch to them. IQ bars from Costco have a perfect comination of sweet & salty. Pure Organic fruit bars from Costco are great for on the go & I love the soft, chewy texture of them so they are sensory friendly for those who have those daily moments. Kettle Brand Potato Chips have a satisfying crunch to them for those who have those salty cravings plus they’re are made with Avocado Oil & seasoned with Pink Peppercorn. Popcorn Options: Lesser Evil & Skinny Pop are both great as well for movie nights or whatever else.
Need a protein shake to add to breakfast and/or to have after a workout? Koia has so many different, delicious flavors (Horchata is one of my favorites!) & they’re all high in plant-based protein
